M. A. Sholokhov Museum

The great writer of our time M. A. Sholokhov, the Nobel Prize winner, considered Kazakhstan his second homeland. For 30 years, he came to our region almost every year, and sometimes twice a year. In the summer of 1942, the Sholokhov family was evacuated to the city of Kamyshin, and then to Western Kazakhstan.

In 1979, in the village of Dariinsk, in the house where the writer lived with his family, the memorial house-museum of M. Sholokhov was opened, where mainly personal belongings of the family and the writer were exhibited.

Today's museum complex is represented by a separate memorial house and a two-story building, which has six exhibition halls with an area of 1039 sq. m.

On the first floor there is an art gallery, a conference hall with 60 seats. On the second floor there is the Department of Nature, Archeology and Ethnography, a hall dedicated to the 10th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the exhibition " M. Sholokhov in the Urals in the post-war years".
