The Syrym Datov Regional Museum of Local Lore was opened in 2002 in the village of Zhympity on the occasion of the 260th anniversary of the birth of the people's batyr.
The museum has departments of archeology, nature, ethnography, and the hall of modern history. The largest exhibition is dedicated to the national liberation movement under the leadership of Syrym Datov.
Among the exhibits of the museum are the rarest examples of everyday objects of the Stone Age: stone altars, stone arrowheads, axes. All these things were found during archaeological excavations on the territory of the Syrymsky district. There are also original jewelry, belts,military armor, documents from the time of Syrym Datov, as well as related to the history of the Western branch of the Alash Horde.
