The former house of the foreman of the Military Economic Board P.Obratnev, now the building of the Dostyk Trading House
The two-story old mansion, located at the corner of Nursultan Nazarbayev Avenue and Nekrasov Street (formerly Kazan Square), belonged to Pavel Ivanovich Obratnev. He was the owner of the mansion, a good-natured, sympathetic, eccentric, desperately brave man, a military foreman, a clerk of the first department of the first table of the military and economic government. He loved to travel. Of all the countries he visited, and traveled almost every year, he brought national costumes. And upon arrival home, he would certainly appear in them on the streets of Uralsk. Obratnev sold his luxurious house to the cattle merchant Yakov Avtonomovich Ovchinnikov, and he himself moved to Khalupa, where he ended his days before the February revolution.
