Monument to Abai Kunanbaev and two fountains (granite)
A monument to Abai Kunanbayev was erected on the central square of Uralsk on August 27, 2002. It was made in granite material and elevated on a pedestal made in the classical style. The author of the monument is a sculptor, a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Dalbay from Almaty. The life and work of Abai Kunanbaev is one of the main themes in the Kazakh literature of the 19th century. Abai is a sighted eye, Abai is a sympathetic heart, Abai is the wisdom of the people. The best thoughts, feelings and deeds of the people are reflected in his life and work. He was the founder of written Kazakh literature and the first realist poet, composer and humanist philosopher.
