Tukhvatullin's house, where G. Tukay used to visit, now the museum of G. Tukay
This house belonged to the intelligent Tukhvatullin family, which had a great influence on the intellectual development and self-consciousness of Gabdulla Tukay, the founder of Tatar democratic literature. G. Tukay lived in Uralsk for 12 years and all these years he was connected with the Tukhvatullin family, used their rich library. During 1905-1906, he created more than 600 poems, among them "On Freedom", "On Unity", an ode to "Pushkin" and others. The fame of G. Tukay is growing, he is invited to Kazan - the center of Tatar culture. In the autumn of 1907, G. Tukay moved to Kazan and collaborated with the Kitap publishing house.
