Air transportations

The decision to build was made in 1933, when a landing site was built near the Khan's Grove. In 1935, a new air terminal was erected 8 km northeast of the city, and the new Soviet aircraft Stal-2, Stal-3, K-5, P-5 came into use.

The beginning of the 70s was the opening of a modern (by those standards) air terminal complex and a runway capable of receiving Il-18, An-24, Tu-134 and Tu-154 (unlike the unpaved runway of the old airport). By the end of the 20th century, Uralsk Airport had a considerable fleet of aircraft (An-2, Yak-12, L-410) and its own repair squadron. In 1993, the Ural United Aviation Squadron received international status (2nd class).

In April 2022, the new terminal of Uralsk International Airport was solemnly opened after reconstruction.

The air harbor was named after Manshuk Mametova. The terminal area has been doubled from 4.5 to 10 thousand square meters, while the airport's capacity has quadrupled. The reconstruction was carried out as part of a social project of the KPO B.V. consortium, the company allocated more than 6.5 billion tenge for this purpose. Thanks to the reconstruction and modernization of the terminal, the capacity of the Ural airport has increased to 600,000 people a year. Instead of the previous 7, 15 destinations will be launched, new domestic and international flights are envisaged.

The park zone is landscaped, 120 parking spaces are provided. The total amount of investments by KPO in the infrastructure of the region to date has exceeded 455 million US dollars.
