The building of the Kazakh regional drama theater

The opening of the theater building on September 11, 2002 was an event for the cultural life of the entire Republic. The President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev took part in the opening ceremony of the Kazakh Drama Theater, built as part of the social program Karachaganak Petroleum Operating b.v. (KPO). This is the first theater built in independent Kazakhstan and is a unique facility in the historical center of Uralsk. The main auditorium of the theater is designed for 280 seats. Stage dimensions - 15 by 21 meters. There are two rehearsal rooms, a hall for social events, a hall for guests of honor, a scenery workshop, a modern top studio and a number of ancillary facilities. For 13 years of its activity, the theater team has twice won the republican theater festivals and, as one of the best in the republic, the theater in 2005 was honored to represent the dramatic art of Kazakhstan at the international theater festival in Egypt. The Kazakh Drama Theater has become a real cultural center where the interests of various arts and various spheres of public life meet and are realized.
